“Most of the bad reviews about this place are absolute bs in my opinion. Played here for the first time 2 weeks ago. Teed off at 6pm so only got to finish 8 holes. I was so impressed with the course conditions and layout, that i had to come back the following morning to play all 18 holes. This course was nothing at all like most of the reviews say it is. The greens were meticulously maintained without a dead blade of grass on any of the greens. The fairways were in good shape, except for some areas where wild pigs have made them bumpy, but it didnt affect play for me. The back 9 is unbelievably gorgeous! Just the whole course layout and the pace of play and the fact that every person there practiced good etiquette and let me pass if they knew they were a little slow, just made this one of my instant, favorite courses. And the 3 people i dealt with on the 4 times ive played here since my first time 2 weeks ago, were the nicest, most helpful, professional people ive ever encountered on any golf course. I even got rained out on my 3rd time playing here. I figured i had just lost the $43 i spent on cart & green fee that day, but nope! The man who rang me up, chased me down in the parking lot and gave me a rain check without me ever asking for one! I was blown away, but i didnt think they would honor it, so i went back the very next morning to see if this was too good to be true. It was a friday morning. Course was very crowded. I was playing solo. He took my rain check, charged me $0 and let me tee off by myself immediately!!! I dont know any other course that would have done something so nice. This course is awesome, the layout is the best around and if you think the staff is rude, it probably just means youre an overly sensitive cry baby who is easily offended. There is no rude staff here. They are the nicest, most genuinely respectful people youll find anywhere. The tee boxes on some holes could use some work, but other than that, this course is amazing.”
— Ryan Meadows“Great course and great friendly people. Staff is helpful and professional. I look forward to next time.”
— James Hinojosa“Golf cart, how about an ATV to traverse the "fairways." There's nothing "fair" about them. The greens are poorly maintained, and several were bumpy, with one of them having a 2' pothole. Way overpriced for the poor quality of course, which is a shame because it has very pretty scenery. The course has tremendous potential. However, in its current condition, I don't recommend paying to play here. These pictures are from hole #5. We could barely find our ball amidst the thick crap grass in the middle of the fairway. I hope that someone can turn this around because it's in a great location and can easily compete with all the good courses in the area of it was in good condition.”
— Gary Sanchez“Where do I even start? I just called and asked for Management about a problem we had last night. I was asked who I was, to which I said a customer. You could hear the manager in the background telling them to take a message, “I don’t wanna talk right now.” Real professional. I told him I would put it online for him at that point. Hi buddy doing what I said i would do for you since you didn’t want to take my phone call. My buddy called and booked a tee time Sunday, the day before, for 5:45pm Monday, as he was told after 6 o’clock, you cannot play 18 holes. We arrived and Devon checks all three of us in, charging each of us a different price. At the same time, he is complaining that there are too many golfers showing up that are not on the paper, in front of us. We sit and wait for 30+ minutes to tee off because they’re so backed up and nobody’s running anything. We finally started our round , which was a complete disappointment. The course is in terrible condition. The tee boxes are like trying to drive a tee into concrete. The fairways are about as rough as a dirt road. There’s a 50-50 mix of grass and weeds. But wait, the real fun came around hole 12, when Devon shows up telling me that we’re not supposed to be playing golf, 18 holes, that he supposedly charged us for (since again he charged us all different prices) because our tee time was too late (to play 18 holes). We let him know that the person that booked our tee time told us that any time after 6pm wouldn’t be able to play 18. This is also stated on their website which we told him and he said “don’t believe what’s online”. We made our tee time specifically before 6pm (5:45pm to be exact) so we could play a full round. After Devon and I discussed his mistake and asked if we needed to pay for the full round, not realizing at this time we were all charged differently. I told him right then and there this had already been a terrible experience and his answer to me was well don’t come back. He then goes to his friends on the tee box in front of us and has them start talking mess to us, asking if we’re ok or do we have a problem. We move onto the next hole and he disappears into the dark as we are watching his friends drive the golf carts across the greens on a par 3. They disappear as well and Devon shows back up to tell us that we are not going to finish our round of golf and we need to leave. Due to their mistake, they had us on the back nine at dark and didn’t want to leave the lights on. They refused to refund my buddy that paid the full amount, that evening, and told us only the owner can refund. He also didn’t want to call his manager and get “in trouble”. My friend went there this morning to get a refund in person and got the same run around. Over all Beacon Lakes This is a negative rating, not even a one star review. I’ve been playing golf my entire life and I’ve never had an experience this bad, you can only laugh about it when you tell people the story.”
